Tropical Human Design | pinned to the seasons eons ago

Tropical Human Design is not reading the sky - it’s reading the seasons.

In the tropical system, 0° Aries is fixed to the Northern Hemi spring equinox, not to the actual constellation Aries. From there, the zodiac is divided into 12 neat, equal signs of 30° each, regardless of what the real sky looks like. This system was formalised when the equinox did line up with Aries - around the 3rd century CE - so at the time, the symbolism and the stars briefly matched.

But the sky kept moving. Because of Earth’s axial precession (about 1° every 72 years), the equinox has slowly drifted backwards through the constellations. Today, the March equinox no longer occurs in Aries at all - it occurs in Pisces, inching toward Aquarius.

Tropical astrology didn’t “update” for that shift.

It stayed seasonal, symbolic, and mathematically tidy.

So Tropical HD can be viewed through the lens of who you learned to be, how you adapted, how you’ve been conditioned to operate inside systems that reward consistency, performance, and compliance.

True Sidereal Human Design | aligned to nature

True Sidereal Human Design reads the actual sky at your first breath, not a symbolic model of it.

It follows the ecliptic - the real path the Sun travels through the sky each year - and uses the true positions of the constellations as they actually exist. And the real sky is not tidy. The constellations are uneven in size, overlapping, and there are more than twelve.

Yes, that includes the conveniently ignored by modern astrology sign of Ophiuchus.

Ophiuchus sits directly on the ecliptic, between Scorpio and Sagittarius, and the Sun passes through it every single year. It wasn’t “discovered later” - it was left out when the zodiac was standardised into twelve equal signs for simplicity. If you’re tracking the real path of the Sun, excluding a constellation the Sun actually moves through makes no freaking sense.

This is why True Sidereal HD often feels confronting and clarifying at the same time.

It’s not describing a role you learned to play or a system you squished your messy + magical self into.

It’s pointing to who you were before conditioning, before symmetry, productivity and worshipping at the altar of extraction were prioritised over your innate genius + unapologetic truth.

The world wasn't meant to fit us disruptors, rebels + revolutionaries. We've always been the truth-talkers, the early adopters, the ones that could sense when a system was ready to compost and make way for new pathways of learning, living, loving and leading.

The world of Human Design is no different. It's said by some that Rah knew about the precession of equinoxes, and how this would often radically change a chart in HD. And also knew it was too 'out there' to be easily accepted by the collective when he first introduced Human Design to the world.

Tropical Human Design is the bridge that got us from Ra Uru Hu's download in 1987 to here in 2026.

I believe True Sidereal Human Design is the way of the future. Some even proclaim it's the difference between looking at the 3D version of you in the time and space continuum and the 5D version you're being called to evolve into.

Me? I'm not 100% sure that feels right in my bones.

What I do know is that it in my lived experience, Tropical HD felt so constricting and not quite right. It felt like it was the 'me' I had lived as for my first four decades but not who I was born to be.

I don't know about you, but as a woman stepping into my 50s, I am SO damn ready to evolve into the wild woman truth of the full power + magick + genius I am here to be.

WHAT IF EVERYTHING YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW ABOUT YOUR HUMAN DESIGN WAS 'OUT' BY 20-something DEGREES?

I first came across Human Design a few years ago. I downloaded my chart, had a reading, learnt I was a 3/5 Generator and whilst SOME of my design resonated, a lot of it didn't.

To be honest, I just thought I didn't 'get it'.

I'm also vehemently opposed to any rule that tries to tell me "if you're x, you must do it this way"

or any form of heirarchy that tried to assign some types of humans being 'better than others'

so yeah ... very soon I got over hearing the dogma spouted by hard core HD fanatics, like 'oh I can't do that - I'm a projector, so I can't initiate'.

To me, it fel like HD was just another box to try to squash ourselves into, so I dropped it and moved on.

It wasn't until I had a Vedic Astrology reading that a massive chiropractic adjustment of the soul hit me.

My HD never felt "quite right" because it was based on modern astrology - a system that doesn't account for the wobble of the earth - meaning that my Tropical HD was based on constellations arbitrarily 'pinned' to the sky at the time of the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere thousands of years ago - which was out by more than 20 degrees by the time I was born!

Enter a deep dive headlong into the True Sidereal Human Design (TSHD) rabbit hole - based on True Sidereal astrology - which not only accounts for the precession, but also includes a 13th constellation the sun passes through - called Ophiuchus - and the real size of the constellations rather than the perfectly proportioned pieces of pie with all signs equal size.

Meeting the truth of my True Sky 6/2 Manifestor genius felt like coming home.

A deep, resoundingly resonant Y E S down deep in my bones.

Since then I've been deep diving into the world of True Sidereal and folding the magick of genius whispering with TSHD led intuitive coaching into client sessions.

Working with my Disruptor, Rebel and Revolutionary clients I had a BIG a-ha around Visibility Blocks. The same patterns of Fear of Success, Fear of Being Seen and other BS I wrote about in my 2015 book Making Friends with Fear also lined up with my clients conditioning + behaviourial patterns in their open and undefined centres in TSHD.

SInce then, I've shared the Anti Entrepreneur Visibility Blocks (a system that now combines TSHD with the original three East meets West modalities I built it on) with more than 100 rebels across the world.

And the rest as they say is sweet genius-reclaiming history.
